My Plus & Interesting Moments in Term 1 Week 1
(4th Feb - 8th Feb) This week I have been based in Rm 9 while Jacob is away .
Pluses
- Incentives and Reminder Wall / Strike 3 systems are working really well in Rm 9. Most of the whole class are keen to get house points and IOU time (class number line).
- Most students have Chrome books and stationery.
- Lovely atmosphere in the class and around the school so far.
- Rm 9 (&8) got a commendation from the Principal on Friday for walking well from class through the office area and around the school.
- Whakatauki o te ra (Proverb of the day) - nice way to start our day together.
Interesting
- Most students are motivated & focused.
- Most students participate and contribute without needing much prompting.
- The year 7s have jumped on board quickly with routines.
Favourite - Whakatauki o te ra.
School Overview Site & My Planning Site
I've set up our school overview site which I'm pretty happy with. I will be adding A.Os for digital technology and other technology areas soon. My planning site for Rm 9 class is user friendly and will be the same one I use throughout the year with my class when/if they arrive. I'm proud of both these sites as they are both efficient and quite aesthetically pleasing - to me. :)
AP Role - PB4L PD for staff
I knew this first session would be going through a checklist and that I would be talking most of this session to get through the important points. Teachers contributed through this padlet link. Great to see the whole team on board with using house points and positive/encouraging words.
Hi Michelle, what a great blog indeed. I really liked how you started your blog on a positive high with the PLUSES happening in your class, then show casing the INTERESTING 👍 I enjoyed how you are incorporating our PB4L model to engage, encourage & excite our students through your rewards/incentives system. Awesome feedback from staff on how they are using PB4L in their classes. Most of all 'tino reka pai te whakatauki mo te whanau RM 9'...Here is one of my favourites I would like to end my post with 'Hei aha o te mea nui? Ko te tangata, te tangata, te tangata' 💣.com Suga 🌟
